Electric cars are notoriously expensive. According to Kelley Blue Book, the average price of an EV at the end of 2022 reached $61,488, which is significantly higher than $49,507 or the average price of for all passenger cars and trucks during the same period. The New York Times says that “there are still waiting lists for some models like the Ford F-150 Lightning pickup truck.” This means that the most desired EVs may still sell above sticker price. In fact, 31 percent of all new cars were sold above MSRP in February 2023, according to a study from iSeeCars. Interestingly enough, the 10 most pricey new models were between 20 and 27 percent above sticker price.
