Lucid Motors has made waves in the EV industry with its sleek and minimalist design complemented by its incredible mileage and impressive performance. While not quite the Tesla killer, the company has reeled in a sizable chunk of the EV market with its Lucid Air Pure, Touring and Grand Touring models. But the optional Lucid Air Stealth Look package sets itself apart from the roster. The black sheep of the Lucid Family, the 2023 Lucid Air Stealth Look, embraces the dark side of electric cars.

Despite making waves on social media, Lucid isn’t crushing the market as expected by industry analysts. Despite one-upping Tesla on almost all fronts, Lucid is chugging along. The new electric vehicle giant is finally delivering on orders. It's shaking up the luxury EV market with a new package dubbed the Stealth Look. So, what’s Lucid doing different with their blacked-out variant?

Trying to poach the luxury EV market, the Lucid Air Stealth Look brings rather unique customization options for its customers. The new Lucid Air Stealth Look upgrades key cosmetic components with a darkened design. Luxury and style go hand-in-hand with their “speculaire black polishing technique employed in fine horology and jewelry”.

Compared to their regular roster, the optional Stealth package offers blacked-out headlights, a dark roof line, lower body trim, and tail light accents. The Stealth package also adds unique 21-inch wheels finished in black, further complimenting the vehicle’s appearance. Overall, we get a monochrome design that looks luxurious and elegant with an aggressive aura.

The Stealth package comes in five different exterior colors. Customers can choose either Infinite Black, Zenith Red, Quantum Gray, Cosmos Silver or Stellar White.

The Full Lucid Air Stealth Look Pack Costs $6000

In January, Lucid revealed their Q4 and annual reports for the Lucid Air lineup. The company produced a total of 7180 vehicles with 3493 produced in Q4, but the company only managed to deliver 4369 vehicles. Lucid is competing in an extremely niche luxury EV market dominated by more wallet-friendly EV alternatives and SUVs. Evidently, the Stealth Look package’s sales will be marginally lower in conjunction with their annual report.

Currently, Lucid offers the Stealth Look package for their Touring and Grand Touring EV variants with or without the glass canopy roof. For the Air Touring and Grand Touring models, the optional Stealth package will cost an additional $3000, that is, with an optional metal roof. If you aim to go all out, expect to pay a premium of $6000 featuring the glass canopy roof.

The Lucid Air Touring starts at $107,400 and Grand Touring at $138,000. Paired with the additional $3000 - $6000 markup, this package doesn’t come cheap. It’s a significant premium over the already premium base price of the EV lineup. This could make it quite difficult for some customers to justify the added cost.

But for those that aren’t worried about money, the Stealth Look package is a small price to pay for the already expensive Lucid Air, owing to the exclusivity and customization options it offers. It’s important to mention that many luxury automotive customers are not afraid to pay for extra features. Especially if it helps make their trophy car stand out from the masses.

The price premium for the Lucid Air Stealth Look is no doubt significant, but it appeals to customers who are adamant about making a statement with their vehicle. If you’re on the fence about the Stealth Package, it only brings benefits in terms of customization and exclusivity.

While the Lucid Air Touring and Grand Touring Models are already pretty impressive when it comes to their luxurious interior which gives their Tesla counterparts a run for their money, the optional Stealth Look package doesn’t bring any performance benefits to the table. Instead, the Stealth Look solely focuses on a visual overhaul with modifications to the exterior of the EV.

As we already know, Lucid is the new Range King, despite the steep price tag. The Lucid Air Touring which starts at around $109,050 delivers a combined 620 hp and 885 lb-ft of torque from its rear and front motors. On a single charge, it offers a range of up to 425 miles. For a staggering extra $30,000, the Lucid Air Grand Touring generates 1,050 hp from its front and rear motor setup, outputting a menacing 921 lb-ft of torque. The range figures on this EV are impressive, topping off at 516 miles, perfect for road trips.

If you’re eyeing the Stealth Look package from a performance standpoint, you’re looking in the wrong place. The Stealth Look adds visual flair to the already powerful Lucid Air Touring and Grand Touring models. If performance is your forte, you definitely can’t go wrong with a full-option Grand Touring, paired with the sportier aesthetics of the Stealth Look.

The Lucid Air Stealth Look might not be for everyone. But for those looking for an extra hint of exclusivity and style, Lucid brings something new to the table. The Stealth Look variants, indeed, offer a sweet balance between luxury and aggression, but the optional package is a hard sell with the already expensive Air Touring and Grand Touring models.
