In 1970, America got its first taste of the Nissan 240Z, although, at the time, it came marketed as the Datsun 240Z. It seemed like the advent of a new decade, a new breed of sports cars because America in the 1960s was an automotive hub of cars vying to be able to give you the most thrills with the horsepower wars, brought about by the sheer popularity of the V8. Most of these were muscle cars and in the name of sports cars, all America had to offer was the Corvette Stingray, Shelby Cobra, and of course, the legendary Ford GT40.
