For years now, the battery market has been dominated by lithium-ion batteries. The lithium-ion battery represented a major improvement over the lead batteries of the past. However, it seems like a new type of battery may soon be replacing them. Solid-state batteries offer many improvements and may be the final catalyst needed to overcome any lingering inferiority of EVs to their gasoline and diesel counterparts.Currently, solid-state batteries are in the development stage, and we just don't know yet when they will mature, but when they do, they may be a game-changer. The world is set on a path of adopting EVs en masse and the pace of investment in them is staggering. Car company after car company has announced that they are ceasing all investment into internal combustion engines so that they can focus solely on developing electrical vehicles. These are the reasons why we are excited about solid-state batteries, the technology that will revolutionize the EV segment.
